Jake Polverini

Attorney Jake Polverini is more than just a lawyer—he’s a hometown advocate dedicated to fighting for the people of the Ohio Valley.

Jake graduated from West Virginia Northern Community College (2006), the University of Pittsburgh (2008), and earned his J.D. from West Virginia University College of Law in 2012. Before law, Jake spent eight years working in radio as an on-air talent and producer, a role that sharpened his communication skills and gave him a strong connection to the community he now serves.

Jake launched his legal career through a fellowship with the WV Fund for Law in the Public Interest, joining the 1st Judicial Circuit Public Defender Corp. There, he quickly earned a reputation for passionate advocacy and earned the nickname “Wolverine” for his relentless courtroom style. After three years as a public defender, he went on to clerk for the Honorable Jason A. Cuomo of the 1st Judicial Circuit, gaining valuable insight from the bench before moving into private practice.

Beyond the courtroom, Jake is deeply committed to community service. In 2012, he founded Tournament 66, a charity hockey event benefiting the Mario Lemieux Foundation, and continues to serve as its director. An avid ice and ball hockey player, he brings the same energy and determination he shows on the rink to every client he represents.

Around the office, you might also meet Jake’s dogs—Maya, an Alaskan Malamute, and Remmy, a Blue Heeler/Border Collie mix—who are just as much a part of the team as the attorneys and staff.

When asked why he became a lawyer, Jake puts it simply:

“What man is a man who does not make the world better? People don’t hire a lawyer when life is going smoothly—they hire one when they’re facing challenges. I love having the opportunity to stand beside them and make a difference.”

Jake is admitted to practice in West Virginia, the Northern District of West Virginia Federal Court, and Pennsylvania.
